Google Powered Android, T-Mobile G1

The Google phone, "T-Mobile G1″ powered by the Google mobile OS, Android, was introduced on september 23rd. T-Mobile, HTC and Google are involved in this project. Now, anyone could easily guess that, "Hey, its a planned parternship to beat the iPhone". well, thats right. so, can it beat the iPhone? That, we can't be sure, atleast not yet!

So, whats the big deal? what if the three were combined? Its just another touch pad phone.. what's new? Well, there is. First thing is Android is powered by Google and its focused on openness, that is open source. So, its just the tip of the iceberg.

Features: The G1 is slick, promising and most of all, thanks to the QWERTY keyboard, in addition to touch screen board. I know that many of us are not very fond of the touch screen keyboard. Adding to the note, it carries all the Google applications, from the Google search, maps, gmail with IM included, built in musci player and there are already more than 1700 applications for the G1 till now. The phone is sim locked.

The commercial release date was October 22 (US only). the company said that, it will be in the UK markets in early November and through out Europe by the 1st quarter of 2009. There is no official release date for the Asian markets, but we may expect it in early to mid 2010. The cost of the T-Mobile G1 is $179.
