Apple iPhone 5 Said to Go on Pre-Order on the 30th of September

You must be frustrated knowing that the Cupertino has not released anything official about their next generation iOS smartphone. You must have read about a number of rumors surfacing in the web. With an overwhelming number of rumors surrounding the Cupertino-made handset, you are probably more confused than informed. Now, we hear that the Apple iPhone 5 will be available for pre-order on the 30th of September. It is said to be officially launched on the 7th of October. This is all according to anonymous sources from 9to5Mac.

This new report may possibly be accurate. We have heard countless rumors suggesting the phone will be launched either on September or October. According to 9to5Mac's sources, the house of Jobs was initially undecided whether to launch their next generation iOS smartphone on the 7th or 14th of October. However, since everything on the supply line seems to be going smoothly, it looks like an October 7 launch date is more likely. Of course, you should still take this piece of information with a grain of salt.

Why do a lot of people feel that September is most likely to be the date when the phone is announced? Traditionally, the Cupertino-based company has held events on the month of September. However, this was usually the time of year that we would see an iPod refresh. Normally, next generation iPhones are released in June. Since the iOS 5 software update was introduced instead, it makes sense for Apple to reserve its usual September event for the Apple iPhone 5. Furthermore, since the iOS 5 was introduced in place of the handset, it makes sense to feature Apple's latest OS in an all-new smartphone.

We cannot say for sure what Apple is planning. A number of analysts have claimed that there will actually be two phone releases this coming September or October instead of one. They say that the Apple iPhone 5 will be accompanied by a cheaper version of their 4th generation smartphone. This is the iPhone 4S.

When specifications come to mind, this new flagship by the Cupertino firm will come with specs that are up to par with today's standards. It is said to come with the dual-core A5 chip. This is currently being used by the iPad 2. Other specs include a 4 inch touch screen and a rumored 8 megapixel camera.

Of course, there is no way for us to confirm these reports about the iPhone 5. We will know once and for all if the rumors are true in the coming weeks.
