Sources Say the Apple iPhone 5 Will Sport a 3.7 Inch Display

We have all heard numerous rumors about Apple's up and coming fifth generation iOS 5-powered smartphone. We have heard rumors about the phone's processor. We have heard reports about the phone's capabilities. Now, we are hearing something new about the handset's display.

In previous reports, sources have said that the Apple iPhone 5 will come with at least a 4 inch touch screen. This makes sense since most high-end smartphones come with a large screen display. The HTC Sensation comes with a 4.3 inch S-LCD capacitive touch screen and the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen. A larger display offers users more real estate for their touch features. However, new reports contradict this claim.

DigiTimes is a Taiwan-based tech publication that claims to have sources within the supply lines of industry leaders. One of these industry leaders is none other than the Cupertino firm. According to the tech publication, their new information about Apple's handset comes from a panel supplier of the Cupertino-based firm. According to this source, the smartphone will not come with a 4 inch display. Instead, it will come with a 3.7 inch touch screen.

You might be disappointed with these new findings. However, according to DigiTimes, it is not a total loss. Despite coming with a smaller display, the up and coming Apple iPhone 5 will come with a thinner bezel. With a smaller frame, this will give an illusion of more real estate. It may not be larger. However, you may not even notice the difference.

There are some who feel that this will be a disadvantage. There are some who feel it will not matter at all. After all, the Cupertino-based tech giant offers more than just hardware to win over the consumer. The Apple iPhone 5 will still allow users to enjoy more from a vast array of apps from the App Store. Furthermore, it will come with new features such as the iMessage IM and the iCloud cloud streaming service. iMessage will be an instant messaging service similar to the Blackberry Messenger. iCloud will be an online storage service that will sync your digital content across your iOS-powered devices. These new services will also roll out to the iPad 2.

Despite this new report conflicting with old claims, they still believe that the Apple iPhone 5 will still come packed with a dual-core process similar to the iPad 2.
